Programming Analog Music On Hold

Overview

Analog Music on Hold is provided by an external music source (a radio, for example) connected to any one of the following (see the Hardware Technical Reference Manual for specifications):

Programming

To program Music on Hold:

  1. System Options form

  1. (Optional) Class of Service Options form

  1. Trunk Circuit Descriptor - E and M form

  2. Set the Outgoing Start Type parameter to "Immediate"

  3. Set the Transmission Facility parameter to "2 wire"

  4. Set the 2 Wire Balanced Network Setting parameter to "600"

  5. Set the Perform Seize Test on Out-of-Service Trunks parameter to "No"

  6. All other parameters may be any value.

  1. If you assigned Music on Hold to an E&M port on the AMB (on a controller with embedded analog) reboot the controller to start Music on Hold operation. Or, if you assigned Music on Hold to a port on a Universal ASU E&M card, reload the Analog Services Unit to start Music on Hold operation.

NOTE: Any omission of programming PLID assignment and or CIM to configured ASU will not permit Music on Hold.
